PCN Privacy NoticeThe penalty/parking charge notice ("PCN") website and Interactive voice response system ("PCN Website" and "PCN IVR") are operated by RingGo Ltd ("RingGo"). RingGo operates these on behalf of local authorities, public bodies and/or commercial organisations, which make parking spaces available for use by motorists on a paid basis and/or levy charges or tolls relating to vehicle or road use ('Authority' or 'Authorities'). Your privacy is important for RingGo and the Authorities involved. This privacy notice explains what personal information is collected from you when you interact with the PCN Website or PCN IVR, and how this information is used. PCN Website and IVRThe PCN Website and IVR system enable you to pay for your parking contravention. This can consist of Penalty Charge Notices, Parking Charge Notices, or derivatives thereof, including, but not limited to Excess Charge Notices (ECN), FPN (Fixed Penalty Notices), Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) via internet (PCN Website) and by phone (IVR). This Privacy Notice applies to these services What personal data is collected?In order to operate the penalty/ parking charge payment service for the relevant Authorities, certain personal information is processed. You provide some of this information directly when entering your details to make a payment. Additionally, we receive some of your personal data indirectly through your devices, by recording how you interact with our services (e.g. through cookies). This allows us to improve our PCN service. RingGo receives details of your parking contravention from the relevant Authority, so it can facilitate the payment thereof. This information consists of your vehicle details namely make, model, colour, vehicle number plate, contravention number and the amount charged. How is your personal data used?RingGo and relevant Authorities use your personal data to facilitate the secure recording and payment of your parking contravention. Your personal data will only be used for the purposes for which it was collected and, where relevant, to meet local legal obligations. Your personal data is used for the following purposes:
To enable you to pay for your parking contravention. RingGo processes your payment card details to facilitate and to communicate your payment to the relevant parking control bodies. Customer support. RingGo and/or the relevant Authorities use your vehicle registration number, make, model, colour and contravention number to support you in your use of the PCN services. This includes the use of personal information to diagnose product problems, rectify erroneous transactions and provide other customer support related services. Customer engagement and communication. RingGo uses your email address to communicate with you via email to send payment receipts Safety, security and dispute settlement. RingGo and/or the relevant Authority use your details to protect the security, integrity and safety of the PCN services and customers. This includes processing in the context of detecting and preventing fraud, theft and other misuse of the PCN services. RingGo and/or the relevant Authority may also use personal information in the context of dispute settlements, to enforce rights towards you or third parties or defend ourselves against any (third party) claims or allegations. Legal obligations. Your information may be processed in relation to a legal obligation. This includes cases where RingGo and/or the relevant Authority must comply with requests from competent authorities, administrative obligations and in cases involving legal disputes. Improving and personalising our products and services. We use your personal information to improve the PCN website and services. Clicking behaviour and search results on the PCN website can for instance help to prioritize or identify new service features. With whom do we share your personal data?RingGo shares your personal data with the Authority that has issued the parking contravention and with relevant suppliers (e.g. hosting providers, payment service provider, and customer care related services providers):
RingGo is part of the EasyPark Group. To be able to provide you with the PCN services, we may make use of some intra-company facilities, e.g. for database purposes, administration, and fraud prevention. As such, we may also share certain personal data with our affiliates. Such intra-company sharing of data will only occur for purposes of operating our PCN business and services and as has otherwise been outlined in this Privacy Notice. Where is your personal data processed?To be able to provide you with our PCN services, your personal data is mainly processed by our staff in the United Kingdom. We may also share data with our affiliates in the context of operating our PCN business and services as outlined in this Privacy Notice. Our affiliated offices are located in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland. For hosting and maintenance purposes your personal data is located in the United Kingdom. To the extent any other personal data will be transferred to a country outside the European Union or an international organisation, we will make sure that this only happens to such countries and international organisations that ensure an adequate level of protection, have put appropriate safeguards in place to protect your data and your rights in accordance with the EU privacy law (GDPR), or as is otherwise allowed under the GDPR. How long do we keep your personal data?We will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which the information was collected, or as long as is required pursuant to law. Data may be retained longer in cases where it is used in relation to a legal claim or is used in relation to a valid legal process.
